2020 vision

As the Covid-19 restrictions continue to ease, I thought it time I came back out into the world.  For the last few months I decided not to interact with social media and the news, the only exception being when joining training sessions I had booked.  So, what have I been doing?

Like so many others, I have deep cleaned my home, clearing out all sorts of bits which eventually found their way either to the tip or the charity shop.  I have baked; read lots of interesting – and some just plain old soppy – books; listened to music; practised Tai Chi and Qigong; tidied up the garden, painted the garden plant stands and grown some veg; and, finally, practised lots of self-healing and gratitude. 

My favourite times have been my walks, watching and interacting with nature, especially in those quiet times. Having the time to ‘just be’ and finding the ‘still point’, watching how nature changes day to day and month to month. I have been lucky enough to have had close encounters with deer, fox cubs and buzzards, to watch an explosion of butterflies and dragonflies and to just enjoy grounding time with some lovely trees.

These have helped get me through a difficult time. Like many others I live on my own and have been unable to see friends or my family, who live on the other side of the country. Whilst video calling and messages have brought joy, this time alone has made me readdress my life. What is important to me? What gives me joy? I decided I like the simpler life and wish it to continue. I love being outdoors and I want to do what I can to preserve nature. I have therefore looked even deeper into what I can do to reduce my cardon footprint, look at the way I shop and at how to support local businesses and the environment wherever I can.

During lockdown I began a course in sound therapy with the lovely Suzi Garrod, achieving my Level 1 Sound Practitioner certificate. I also became a Level 4 Seichem Reiki Practitioner thanks to the inspirational Jo Dutfield. I advanced my animal communication training with Madeleine Walker to further deepen my understanding of the gifts animals can share with us. In addition to this, I have remained in close contact with Livvy Adams at the Paintedhorse and we are looking forward to offering numerous new courses when restrictions allow.

Finally, I undertook the necessary Health, Safety and Hygiene training required for returning to work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

When it comes to my business, like so many others, I have had to adapt.  I am offering the following services until further easing of restrictions:

  • Meditation and Mindfulness – practices which may help with relaxation, anxiety, depression and general wellbeing. Initial consultation £20
  • Eating for Health – looking at how, when and why we eat, all of which may help with weight loss and general well-being. Sessions will be via the internet. Initial consultation £20
  • Distance Seichem Reiki Healing – aiming to help with physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual issues. Session cost £35
  • Eco Therapy Trails – a combination of therapies which may help with all the issues mentioned above and provide a deeper understanding of our connections with world in which we live. Sessions run for 1.5 to 2.5 hours, dependant on mobility. Prices from £45

Sessions can be on a 1-1 basis or in small groups with social distancing and other necessary Covid-19 safety precautions.
